Just as the Marek organization pioneered the use of drywall in the residential markets during the 1930’s, we were in the forefront of the “commercial drywall/interiors” market in the 1960’s.

What began as simply metal studs and fire rated gypsum board as a replacement to plaster and concrete block partitions has evolved into a multi-faceted aspect of the building industry serving schools, businesses, institutions, retail, and even high end residential.

“Commercial” interior solutions have grown from weight and cost considerations to structural qualities, aesthetics, fire rating, acoustical, and a myriad of other performance issues.

Wherever there were needs the Marek commercial teams were developing the expertise, the skilled labor, the technology, and the processes to solve the industry’s issues and continue moving forward. It was in this manner that our geographical markets were chosen. In every case where a new office or product line was opened, it was at the request of a general contractor, an owner/developer, or a manufacturer. Even in Houston, where our commercial roots lie, we have on multiple occasions taken on new geographic or product challenges at the specific request of a client.

This has resulted in five regional offices serving the major metropolitan areas of Texas; Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio along with our commercial division in Atlanta, Georgia.
