Community Involvement

Annual Chili Cook Off / Poker Tournament: An excellent networking opportunity combined with good chili. Open to any one cook team per company that is a contractor/industry member. Contestants were responsible for the preparation of their chili and provide enough chili to feed thirty people, which was served to the public after judging. To attend the chili cook off was free however each person was asked to donate a minimum of five non-perishable food items.  All donations went to the North Texas area food banks to help put food back into the pantry shelves. With the food collected from the chili cook off the ending total was at 3,988 pounds of food along with cash donations and it was delivered to two area food banks, North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant County Food Bank. It was a pleasure to participate in this event, and all in all it was a huge success. Following the chili cook off was the Education and Research Foundation’s Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament. This part of the event everyone had the opportunity to renew old friendships and make new one in a casual atmosphere.

Poker Run:  Benefiting the Scottish Rite Hospital and Happy Hills Farm Academy, this exciting event was open to the public as well as the construction industry. Those who own motorcycles, classic/sport cars or any form of transportation was invited to participate in a full day of riding, where they would stop along the way to visit with sponsors and conclude the adventure at a location to enjoy Bar-B-Q, beverages, door prizes and much more. The event raised forty thousand dollars and it was donated equally to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for children and Happy Hills Farm Academy. The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital provides thousands of children with the finest medical treatment available at no cost to their families and Happy Hills Farm Academy/Home provides at-risk children another chance in life.

Balfour Beatty Gold Classic:  Benefiting the Children’s Medical Center to help give back to provide vital life support equipment for critically ill children. We have been proud to join many others in building a better community.
