These pictures below are of the Marek Brothers employees volunteering for the Extreme Makeover home built by HHN Homes in Houston, TX,and the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team for the Johnson Family. The home was designed by the Studio RED Architects. The home, which usually takes about four months to complete, was built in seven days. This home was built for Eric and Elaine Johnson and their five daughters. They are marraige counselors, and Eric is also an ordained minister. They lived in an Hurricane Ike damaged home that was a 720 square foot A-frame house with a toilet that did not flush. The new home for the Johnson family was the result of a weeklong effort of more than 3500 volunteers. The home is located on Goodhope Street in the Third Ward and has 4500 square for the family to enjoy, which also resembles a castle. Twenty-nine Marek Residentual employees provided day and night sweat from start to finish.

Rise and Shine benefits The Rise School of Houston, a nationally recognized pre-school for children with and without Down syndrome and other disabilities. All proceeds from the run go directly to benefit the children who attend the school.
The Marek Companies teams up with Adams Insurance Service to serve as Underwriting sponsors for the Associated General Contractor’s Apex Awards celebration recognizing project excellence. The event is held every other year in even years and Marek projects have been consistent winners in the Finishes category, and participants with clients on winning projects in the General Contractors categories, as well. The Bonita House of Hope
This is a story of an individual, Tyrone Evans, who for 30 years was an alcoholic and drug addict. After being incarcerated several times, he decided to spend the balance of his life helping others who were fighting to overcome drug and alcoholic addiction. He lived near a street called Bonita Street that had become a gathering place for drug dealers and drug addicts. The conditions on Bonita Street were so bad that even the police tried to avoid it because it was too dangerous. Tyrone was very upset that the street had become a hub for drug dealers. He drove down the street one afternoon and was confronted by a group of gang members at gunpoint who asked what he was doing there. They advised him that if he wasn’t buying drugs he needed to leave. There were 18 small homes on the street that were occupied by drug users... (read more)

The WorkFaith Connection is about training and giving assistance to those who are in financially disadvantaged situations. They give people who had a difficult background, made mistakes in their life, and are now ready to turn their lives around and become contributing members of the community. After participating in a short program, they then connect them to local employers with entry-level positions and provide a systematic follow-up for job retention and advancement. Marek Brothers System is a strong supporter of this well deserved organization.
