The Workforce Development Department provides support for recruiting, training and retaining a quality workforce. Positions include Director, Training Coordinator, Jobsite Coach Instructor. Most positions do not required a college degree, but specialized training and an understanding of the construction industry, as a whole and craft specific knowledge is desired.
Division Presidents – Corporate Management Positions
- To maintain the highest standards of our industry, Marek’s Management team consists of exceptionally experienced individuals who exhibit qualities of leadership, stewardship, and knowledge in the areas of finance, construction methods and standards, contract management, workforce development, organizational communication, and customer relations. Division Presidents and Corporate Managers are responsible for maintaining an awareness of market trends and creating short term and long term strategic goals for the organization. In addition, as Marek’s core beliefs include a safe work environment, Marek’s Management team provides top down leadership and support for our safety programs.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of Craft Training or Apprenticeship Program;
- Experience: Must have strong background and knowledge of commercial interior construction. Experience in interpreting blue prints, and in depth understanding of production units, and knowledge of OSHA regulations as well as company safety policies and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills, proven record of successful completion of projects, and competent in scheduling and planning work;
- Job Description: A Production Manager is responsible for maintaining and coordinating labor for construction sites, supervising all projects in progress, ensuring that projects stay within budget, promoting a safe work environment for field employees, and maintaining the highest standards for the construction industry. Production Managers work closely with project management team, accounting, and field supervision. As with all Marek employees, the Production Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment;
- Work Environment: A Production Manager works in both the office and field environment. As a major sub-contractor, Marek is involved with construction projects in five major cities. Construction projects can occur outdoors or indoors in a climate controlled environment. Projects range from new construction projects like sports stadiums, hospitals, high rise office buildings, schools, malls, condominiums or can consist of extensive remodel of existing structures;
- Salary Range for these positions greatly depends on training and experience;

- Drywall - Acoustical Ceiling - Finisher - Commercial Paint
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Craft Training Program or Journey Level Certification. Successful completion of Marek’s Foreman Training and 30 Hour OSHA Certification;
- Experience: Minimum of five years experience at the foreman level. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills, proven record of successful completion of projects, and competent in scheduling and planning work;
- Job Description: A superintendent is responsible for multiple sites and must facilitate communication between project management and job site foremen involved in running a construction project in addition to overseeing materials and manpower. Must be able to communicate with field personnel and customers equally. Marek Superintendents are directly responsible for safety and productivity on their projects;
- Work Environment: The Superintendent’s role in a construction project will take him/her from the office to construction sites. As a major sub-contractor, Marek is involved with construction projects in five major cities. Construction projects can occur outdoors or indoors in a climate controlled environment. Projects range from new construction projects like sports stadiums, hospitals, high rise office buildings, schools, malls, condominiums or can consist of extensive remodel of existing structures;

Foreman – (Drywall, Drywall Finishing, Commercial Painting, & Acoustical Ceilings)
- Drywall - Acoustical Ceiling - Finisher - Commercial Paint;
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Craft Training Program or Journey Level Certification, Marek Foreman’s Certification Program, and 10Hour OSHA Certified. Strong preference for English or bilingual skills;
- Experience: Must have experience in all aspects of the trade and have a sound record of quality work and a proven leader in safety programs. communication skills become very important at the foreman level and good reading and writing skills as well as some computer skills are desired;
- Job Description: Marek Foreman is responsible for managing the workforce, materials, tools and equipment, cost, schedule, safety and quality. Communicates between the job site and the project manager and often is responsible for direct communication with our customers. Contact Marek for details on craft specific requirements;
- Work Environment: Environment: As a major sub-contractor, Marek is involved with construction projects in five major cities. Work can occur outdoors or indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Lead Man – (Drywall Mechanic, Drywall Finisher, Commercial Painter, & Ceiling Mechanic)
- Drywall Mechanic - Ceiling Mechanic - Finisher - Commercial Painter;
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Craft Training Program or Journey Level Certification and Crew Leader Training required. English speaking or bilingual desired;
- Experience: Must have proven experience at Journeyman level. In addition, Marek Lead men must be task oriented, proficient in blueprint reading, able to perform layout activities, and exhibit leadership skills.
- Job Description: Marek Lead men work closely with project; supervision to direct the activities of the workforce in a safe and productive manner and may be responsible for his/her own crew. Must be prepared to act as foreman on occasion and show high level of safety awareness at all times. Contact Marek for information on specialty trades;
- Environment: As a major sub-contractor, Marek is involved with construction projects in five major cities. Work can occur outdoors or indoors in a climate-controlled environment. - Drywall Mechanic - Ceiling Mechanic - Finisher - Commercial Painter;
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Craft Training Program or Journey Level Certification. English or bilingual skills desired;
- Experience: Minimum of three years experience in the trade. Drywall Mechanics must show mastery of installation of drywall, framing, fur downs, radius walls, box headers, shaft walls, drywall and acoustical ceilings, and hollow metal doorframes. Marek Journeyman must exhibit exceptional work ethic, safe work practices, and meet production standards. Contact Marek for information on specific trades;

Helper – (Drywall Mechanic, Drywall Finisher, Commercial Painter, & Ceiling Mechanic)
- Drywall Mechanic - Ceiling Mechanic - Finisher - Commercial Painter;
Education: High School Diploma or GED. English speaking or bilingual desired;
- Experience: No experience necessary. Requires a willingness to work hard and learn. As a Marek Helper, you will be assigned a personal coach who will help you learn all you need to know to become successful. Your coach will also help you to design an individualized career path to take you as far as want to go in your new career with Marek;
- Job Description: Drywall Mechanics install metal studs and drywall. Assist mechanic with measurements. Will require lifting up to 100 pounds. Must be willing to fully participate in training programs offered. Contact Marek for information on specific trades;
- Work Environment: In the Commercial Construction Industry, work can occur outdoors or indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Projects range from new construction projects like sports stadiums, hospitals, high rise office buildings, schools, malls, condominiums or can consist of extensive remodel of existing structures;
- Wage Range: $11.50 - $13.00/Hour;

- Education: High School Diploma or GED encouraged not required; Drivers must have a valid Class A or B Driver License. Must be able to operate a tandem axle with a 9-speed standard transmission;
- Experience: No experience necessary. Requires a willingness to work hard and learn. As a Marek Stocker you will be assigned a partner who will help you learn all you need to know to become successful;
- Job Description: Will handle construction materials including wallboard, steel, and insulation. Must unload and stock material with a helper and perform jobsite trash removal. Drivers must be responsible for securing and protecting the load;
- Work Environment: In the Commercial Construction Industry, work can occur outdoors or indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Projects range from new construction projects like sports stadiums, hospitals, high rise office buildings, schools, malls, condominiums or can consist of extensive remodel of existing structures;
- Wage Range: Beginning wages $8.00 - $13.00/Hour;

- Education: Experience:
- Job Description: Marek’s Department Managers supervise estimating and project management's staff activities related to sales, including estimating, marketing, customer relations, strategic planning, and the bidding process. They are responsible for documentation and administrative processes for all project management related activities in coordination with other departments within Marek. Expections of Department Managers are to create a spirit of teamwork and success through support and communication.

Senior Project Manager/Estimator
- Advanced skills in activities related to job procurement and construction; including quantity survey skills, cost and price estimating, sales marketing, and project management. Effective with organizational skills, coordination with other departments, customer relations, participation with industry associations, and promote a spirit of teamwork and success. Effective planner and facilitator of pre-bid and/or post-bid processes.

Project Manager/Estimator
- Education: College degree or equivalent experience in construction management required;
- Experience:
- Job Description: Marek Project Managers/Estimators provide estimates for cost and determine price for construction projects. They plan and facilitate the execution of awarded projects and are key to the successful relationship between Marek and its customers. Project Managers/Estimators are responsible for maintaining accurate records on projects including schedules and tracking costs from the pre-construction to post-construction phase and are often responsible for multiple projects. As with all Marek employees, Project Managers /Estimators are also expected to satisfy our obligation to our customers in a safe and cost effective manner;
- Work Environment: Most of the work will occur in an office environment, but Project Managers maintain a close relationship with field supervision and customers by visiting job sites frequently. As a major sub-contractor, Marek is involved with most major construction projects in five major cities. Construction projects include sites outdoors or indoors in a climate controlled environment. Projects range from new construction projects like Sports Stadiums, Hospitals, High Rise Office Buildings, Schools, Malls, Condominiums or can consist of extensive remodel of existing structures;
- Salary Range: Salary is greatly dependent on education, training, and experience;

- Construction projects require a vast amount of tools, equipment, and materials. Marek has a team of highly motivated employees who are responsible for making sure our projects run smoothly.
- Positions include: Warehouse/Tool Manager, Tool Room Assistant, Warehouse Assistant;
- Responsibilities include assisting employees with tool, equipment, and material needs, maintaining stock, inventory control, inspecting tools and equipment, coordinating repairs, maintaining communication equipment, and maintaining a neat and orderly tool room and warehouse.
- Develops skills in activities related to job procurement and construction including quantity survey skills, cost and price estimating, sales marketing, and project management. Develops and improves organizational skills, coordination with other departments, customer relations, participates with industry associations, and promotes a spirit of teamwork and success.
- This department is responsible for the hiring of production employees safety training, safety policy enforcement, processing accident reports, promoting employee relations, as well as theft and liability administration. Also works with superintendents to promote overall employee evaluations and growth/development. As well as contributes to employee training in the areas of safety, supervisory, and craft training where applicable. Creates a spirit of teamwork through positive support and coaching, and maintains the highest standards and reputation in the industry.
- The Workforce Development Department provides support for a quality workforce by assessing the needs of the workforce, assessing the current workforce, provide standardized training, provide a career path for all its employees, recruiting, recognition of skills of current workforce and create a corporate training culture. Also creates a spirit of teamwork through positive support and coaching, and maintains the highest standards and reputation in the industry.
- The Accounting department is responsible for creating and maintaining all corporate financial records. Generally, experience or college degree is required to fill these positions.
