In keeping with our dedication to continued education and training in safety, your Branch Personnel/Safety manager can arrange for you to attend a training class in Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms.

The class consists of three parts: classroom training on basic operating principles, a video presentation and written test, and a driving test on an obstacle course.

In the classroom you will review basic operating procedures, discuss your pre-start inspection of the equipment, and focus on the hazards of driving an aerial lift platform on the jobsite.

Body of Text The video portion reviews the different kinds of aerial lift equipment that we use in our line of work, shows graphic examples of operator errors, and is followed by a 22 question written examination to verify that you have successfully absorbed the information.


The last part of your training class is demonstrating your operating skills on an obstacle course, including a pre-use group inspection, maneuvering in all directions, elevated operation, backing through a doorway, demonstrating emergency lowering procedures, and securing the lift after use.
