Safety training on stilts

Walking on stilts can be a lifting experience, being three feet in the air is an awkward feeling at first, but thanks to Harold Curry and Steve Tucker from our Dallas branch, the men got hands on training on stilts.

Harold and Steve conducted a safety course on the do's and don'ts of walking on stilts, through this seminar the men became comfortable being on the stilts and covered key points of stilt safety.

Key points to remember:

  1. Inspect stilts daily for deterioration of footpads, straps, and buckles.

  2. Be aware of your walking surface, even a clean floor can have pieces
of debris such as screws, electrical "jet wire", trash of all kinds,
BX cables, conduit, wet spots, etc.

  3. Walk on the stilts correctly, by taking smaller steps and keeping
    your weight above your feet.

By taking the time to remember the safety tips you can avoid injury to yourself, and help keep a safer work environment, we would like to thank Harold and Steve and all the men who participated in the class.
