The building has a most usual design, consisting of a three-sided glass tower with diamond shaped faces at the top. Adjacent to the tower will be a six-story auditorium, dubbed the "podium" which will house multi-floor auditoriums, classrooms, and offices, which designer, Pickard Chilton Architects, called the "jewel of the park." Set in park-like surrounds, the complex will incorporate a reflective pool, fountains and green spaces at the base of the tower, while a clear glass wall will allow passers-by to see into the lobby of the tower. The auditorium is joined to the tower by a seven-story, glass enclosed rotunda, featuring ringed walkways. GRGs suspended at the base will serve as the structure's main entrance. There will also be an area for retail and restaurants.
The tower's main circular lobby features a sloped GRG ceiling with reveals, and a curved core wall with lighting installed behind a millwork grille. This will give our craftsmen plenty of opportunity to showcase their skills.
Senior Estimator Hal Waldrop handled estimating on the close to two-million sf project and help land us a full package that includes drywall and acoustical, as well as many specialized and unusual features, such as ceiling & perimeter diffuser support, stucco soffits, stucco walls, gypsum veneer plaster, GRG, and spray insulation.
Brent Ballard of our Fort Worth office will be the project manager and will be doing a lot of commuting from his home near Denton, Texas.

As the project gets started, MBS Dallas will also be pursuing the tenant packages that could potentially double our contract.
Upon the building's completion in 2012, Devon Energy plans to consolidate its Oklahoma City operations into the new headquarters, moving in 2,200 employees. Devon, one of the world's largest independent oil and gas companies, estimates that the tower will eventually house more than 3,000 of its employees.
