At this year’s APEX gala, Stan Marek received the AGC Houston Master Builder Award. Every two years, this prestigious honor is presented to an individual or organization that has significantly contributed to advancing the commercial environment in the greater Houston area. This award is about more than construction; it’s about shaping the city, building careers, and leaving a lasting legacy.
Kyle Holland of AGC Houston explained that “Master Builder’ comes from early construction history. It was a title of the highest respect reserved for individuals involved in designing and constructing structures that enhance the community. When our Board discusses the Master Builder recipient, we consider designers, project owners, and contractors, but ultimately, we stay true to the historical definition.” This year, the AGC Board of Directors unanimously selected Stan for his unwavering dedication to his people, his company, and the community.
For decades, Stan Marek has not only led MAREK to build incredible projects but also focused on building something even more valuable careers. Phil Nevlud captured the essence of this commitment, saying, “Clients have told me they now understand MAREK’s commitment to an hourly, skilled, and safety- trained workforce. MAREK is more than just building facilities; it’s about building careers and providing for those who do the building.”
