Challenge

The City of Dallas set out to create a modern sports and entertainment venue that would become a landmark for both residents and visitors. The American Airlines Center was designed to blend architectural character with advanced technology, delivering a fan-friendly experience for sporting events, concerts, and large-scale performances.

The project’s large scale and architectural detail required close coordination between multiple design and construction teams. With complex curved surfaces, dramatic ceiling heights, and detailed finishes throughout the concourses and seating areas, maintaining precision and quality across every space was essential to achieving the design intent.

Solution

MAREK’s Dallas team was responsible for the drywall assemblies, ceilings, acoustical systems, and paint throughout the facility. Our craftsmen worked closely with the design and construction teams to execute intricate ceiling layouts and acoustical treatments that enhanced both the visual and functional performance of the building.

Key areas included the main concourse, club levels, and suites, each requiring high-quality finishes that could withstand the demands of a busy public venue. The work also extended to specialized acoustical ceilings and wall assemblies that helped ensure clear sound projection throughout the arena.

Through collaboration and craftsmanship, MAREK helped deliver an arena that has become one of the most recognized and well-loved entertainment venues in the country. The American Airlines Center continues to serve as home to the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars, welcoming millions of guests each year for events and performances of every kind.
