The First Baptist Church of Woodstock was designed to bring together classical architecture and modern construction techniques to create a space that serves both worship and community gatherings. The project included a large sanctuary and auditorium with extensive acoustical detailing, as well as other supporting spaces that required both visual harmony and functional performance.
The design called for intricate ceiling work and acoustical assemblies that would support clear sound projection throughout the large space. The combination of high ceilings, curved surfaces, and ornate architectural details required precise planning and craftsmanship to achieve the desired result.
MAREK partnered with Brasfield & Gorrie to complete the drywall assemblies, ceilings, and acoustical systems throughout the facility. The team focused on maintaining both the aesthetic and functional integrity of the design, ensuring that every surface contributed to the building’s visual impact and acoustic quality.
Through close coordination with the architect and other trades, MAREK delivered detailed ceiling systems and smooth finishes that elevated the look of the sanctuary and improved sound clarity for the congregation. The completed church combines timeless architectural beauty with the technical precision needed for a space designed for worship, music, and community events.
