Challenge

The Omni Fort Worth project brought together both a luxury hotel and high-rise residential condominiums under one roof. The 34-story structure included 614 guest rooms, 68,000 square feet of meeting space, and private residences on the upper floors, capped by a single-level penthouse known as “Hawkeye.”

Delivering a mixed-use property of this size and complexity required precision and flexibility. As the schedule tightened due to structural and MEP delays, the general contractor needed a partner who could mobilize quickly, maintain quality, and help recover lost time without sacrificing safety or craftsmanship.

Solution

MAREK provided comprehensive interior solutions, including metal stud framing, insulation, drywall, acoustical ceilings, doors and hardware, FRP wall panels, and EIFS. The team managed multiple subcontractors while maintaining a consistent standard of quality across hotel rooms, meeting spaces, and condominium units.

When the project schedule fell behind, MAREK collaborated closely with Austin Building Company to develop a recovery plan. By combining the capacity of both the commercial (MBS) and residential (MBC) divisions, the team was able to accelerate drywall installation and complete one floor per week as requested by the general contractor.

This collaborative effort not only helped bring the project back on schedule but also strengthened the partnership between MAREK and the general contractor, contributing to their success in securing future high-rise work in downtown Dallas.

The Omni Hotel and Residences now stand as a signature property in the Fort Worth skyline, offering a balance of luxury and functionality achieved through coordinated teamwork and craftsmanship.
