TxDOT Stassney Campus

The Texas Department of Transportation sought to unite 36 divisions and nearly 2,000 employees into a single campus that could foster collaboration, efficiency, and long-term growth. Located on 49 acres in Austin, the TxDOT Stassney Campus included a five-story administration building, a six-level parking garage, and a two-story central utility plant. Delivering a project of this scale required precise coordination, expert craftsmanship, and an approach that could balance quality, safety, and schedule.

MAREK partnered with Vaughn Construction to complete interior and exterior framing across three of the five buildings, including the Administration Building, Central Utility Plant, and the exterior soffits of the Parking Garage. Our team installed over 1,118,000 square feet of framing, drywall, and acoustical ceilings in the Administration Building alone, while also completing window coverings, doors, frames, and hardware.

To enhance efficiency, MAREK prefabricated an intricate exterior “eyebrow” structure offsite, transporting and installing each section with precision. This innovative approach saved time, reduced material waste, and maintained the high level of quality MAREK is known for.

The completed campus now brings together thousands of TxDOT employees under one roof, providing a modern and efficient workplace that supports the agency’s mission across Texas. The project earned both the ABC Central Texas Excellence in Construction Eagle Award and ABC National Excellence in Construction Eagle Award, recognizing the craftsmanship and collaboration that defined its success.
