Trailbreak Partners set out to transform a 1950s-era office tower into a high-end hotel while preserving structural integrity and achieving modern performance and luxury standards. The project required renovating a 21-story building with limited access and ongoing demolition, creating challenges in material handling, sequencing, and installation of complex interior finishes.
SolutionMAREK was brought on by Whiting-Turner to provide drywall assemblies and ceilings and acoustical solutions throughout the tower. Our team installed Armstrong WoodWorks Classic Grille panels in natural walnut across guestroom corridors from levels 4 through 21, providing warmth and a high-end finish. On the lower three levels, we installed Arktura Atmosphera Analog 3D systems with Soft Sound wood-look fins to enhance acoustics and design continuity in public areas. Despite tight access, small elevators, and frequent field adjustments, our crews maintained precision, coordination, and efficiency throughout the installation.
The result was a fully renovated 21-story hotel that blends modern luxury with the character of San Antonio’s Riverwalk. MAREK was proud to support the project through high-quality interior finishes and acoustical solutions that enhance comfort and design continuity.
