JW Marriott San Antonio

The vision for the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa was to create a destination that blended luxury with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Designed as both a family-friendly getaway and a premier venue for professional golf tournaments, the resort needed to reflect the serenity of the Texas Hill Country while offering guests world-class amenities.
 
As the largest hotel in the JW Marriott system at the time, the project included 1,005 guest rooms, a full conference center, restaurants, a spa, and an expansive clubhouse. The size and scope of the project demanded precision, skilled manpower, and extensive coordination across multiple facilities operating under one construction schedule.

MAREK partnered with Austin Commercial to deliver all drywall assemblies, ceilings, and acoustical systems throughout the resort. At the project’s peak, more than 350 MAREK craftsmen worked simultaneously across the hotel, conference center, spa, and clubhouse.
 
Our team focused on maintaining consistency and quality across a wide range of spaces, from guest suites and public corridors to high-end restaurants and custom architectural features. Areas such as the sports bar featured intricate radius furr-downs designed to double as projection screens, requiring detailed coordination and careful installation.
 
Close collaboration with Austin Commercial and other trades ensured the schedule remained on track, while MAREK’s focus on safety and craftsmanship supported the owner’s vision of a resort that offers comfort, elegance, and an authentic connection to the landscape.
 
Today, the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort stands as a world-class destination, hosting guests from around the globe while reflecting the craftsmanship and teamwork that brought the project to life.
