Texas Tech University set out to build a world-class athletic facility that would enhance the student-athlete experience and energize fans on game day. The South Endzone – Womble project combines bold design with complex technical requirements, including custom perforated ceilings with integrated linear lighting installed at heights exceeding 14 feet. With materials ordered before final field measurements, precise coordination and communication were essential to meet the demanding two-year construction schedule.
SolutionWorking with Manhattan Construction and Populous, MAREK completed drywall, fabric panels, window treatments, custom banquette seating, and specialty and acoustical ceilings. Our team focused on accurate layout, detailed installation, and consistent communication with trade partners to maintain schedule and quality. Each phase required careful planning to ensure that every ceiling detail, lighting integration, and finish element aligned perfectly with the design intent.
The result was a 350,000-square-foot athletic facility that delivered both performance and visual impact. The completed space reflects Texas Tech’s commitment to excellence and provides athletes, coaches, and fans with a first-class experience.
