MBS Austin Apprenticeship Program

We would like to recognize our employees whom are participating in our apprenticeship program. In this picture they are standing in front of a frame and sheet rock wall which they built as part of the performance lab project. As part of the lab, each apprentice is required to take apart a metal and wood framing, install insulation and sheet rock using metal screws.

ABC's Excellence in Construction award

We would like to recognize our employees who won an ABC's Excellence in Construction award for the UT Norman Hackerman Building and also to Marek Brothers Systems whom won an award for the "2011 Best of the Best Subcontractor" award.

2011 MBS Service Awards

Congratulations to those whom received their well deserved service awards last night. The service awards dinner was held at Sullivan's where employees and their spouses were invited to honor and congratulate those individuals whom have been with the company and devoted their time and hard work to Marek Brothers. We greatly appreciate all that you do!

Efrian Vega, shown here, is working on a lift on the site of the U.S. Courthouse. He is being coached by Francisco Hernandez whom has been training Efrain on istallation of exterior heavy gauge metal. Both of them have been taking turns with the installation and cutting metal.

Job Creation: Bass Pro Shops gives local contractors business

HARLINGEN — Half of the subcontractors building the multimillion-dollar, 150,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shops store are from the Rio Grande Valley or have offices here.
Of 20 subcontractors hired by Bass Pro for the job, 10 are located in cities from Harlingen to McAllen.
These businesses are building and installing everything from concrete sections, flooring and roofing to lighting and air conditioning.
One local subcontractor is Harlingen-based Commercial Plumbing & Mech
